The Color Theory: Rules of the Spectrum

Here what I consider the focal point of the outfit, are Nike Air Jordan 1’s in ‘Turbo Green’. With its subtle light blue-greenish tone, I decided to work the colors from the bottom up.

Next, I looked for a shirt that would contrast with the pastel-like tone the shoes provides. This multi-colored button down intersects vibrant hues of green and yellow with more dull and neutral tones of gray and white.

Next, I was in searched of a light gray pant to bounce off of the accent of the shoes and the shirt. Due to the pant i intended to get initially being out of stock, I had to find an alternative color that wouldn’t throw off either of the pieces yet still look cohesive.

Lastly, I added a Nike fanny-pack in for an additional pop of color. The rich vivacious burgundy color, gives the outfit a full circle look. This also helped tie the color back in without going too far from its original inception.

In conclusion, color is a world of exploration that is boundless regardless of its guidelines. Among fashion its rules are important but never crucial enough to hinder creativity and the art of redefinition.
